講題:Chemistry of Large Numbers
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Richard Lerner, Institute Professor of The Scripps Research Institute, will give a special lecture on “Chemistry of Large Numbers” at 15:00-16:30 on Friday, November 14 , 2014, at the Second Conference Room (3F) of the Building for Humanities and Social Sciences, Academia Sinica.
Dr. Richard Lerner is a highly respected scientist whose research focuses on biomedical sciences related to antibodies and immunochemistry. In recognition of his scientific achievements, Dr. Lerner has been the recipient of many honors and prizes. These include the Parke-Davis Award (1978), the San Marino Prize (1990), the Humboldt Research Award (1994), in addition to the prestigious Wolf Prize in Chemistry for 1994 (with Peter Schultz). Dr. Richard Lerner was also awarded the California Scientist of the Year Award in 1996 and the University of California Presidential Medal in 2002.
Dr. Lerner served as President of The Scripps Research Institute for over 20 years, until January 1, 2012, and is currently an Institute Professor. He is also elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the United States National Academy of Sciences.
