週期表新增四個成員 第七週期元素全員到齊

IUPAC正式宣布核實四個新化學元素的發現結果，週期表第七週期因此圓滿完整。發現新元素的研究團隊將獲得命名權。
經來自國際純粹與應用化學聯盟（International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry，IUPAC）與國際純粹與應用物理聯盟（International Union of Pure and Applied Physics，IUPAP）的研究人員們所組成的聯合工作小組（Joint Working Party，JWP）審查後，終於正式認可原子序為113號、115號、117號與118號等四個新發現的超重元素（superheavy element），表示週期表上的第七週期元素已全員到齊。這些新元素暫時的名稱與符號分別為 ununtrium（Uut）、 ununpentium（Uup）、 ununseptium（Uus）與 ununoctium（Uuo）。新元素的正式名稱之後將由發現該元素的研究團隊命名。
日本理化學研究所（RIKEN）仁科加速器研究中心的超重元素研究小組（主持人為森田浩介博士）取得第113號元素的命名權。而第115號、第117號以及第118號元素的正式名稱與符號，將會由俄羅斯杜布納聯合原子核研究所（Joint Institute for Nuclear Research，JINR）、美國能源部的勞倫斯利福摩爾國家實驗室（Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory，LLNL）和橡樹嶺國家實驗室（Oak Ridge National Laboratory，ORNL）的共同研究團隊進行命名。
