The 9th Network of Inter-Asian Chemistry Educators (9NICE) Conference 2023 will be held in the City of Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia from 28 - 30 July 2023. The official website has already been launched, which you may visit it from the following link.
With the theme of "Chemistry for Sustainable Development & Environmental Protection", the 9NICE Conference 2023 will comprise the following:
1. Lectures: Keynotes, oral & poster presentations
2. Cultural & Nature Tours
3. Exhibition
4. IUPAC Young Ambassadors of Chemistry (YAC) programme
The Network of Inter-Asian Chemistry Educators (NICE) is a special interest group of chemistry educators from the Asia Pacific countries. First initiated by three members of IUPAC Committee of Chemistry Education (CCE), Prof. Choon H. Do (Korea), Prof. Masato M. Ito (Japan), and Prof. Mei-Hung Chiu (Taiwan) during the International Conference on Chemical Education (ICCE) in Turkey in 2004. NICE was formally established in February 2006 and held its first Symposium in conjunction with 19ICCE in Seoul, Korea in 2006.
At the 8NICE Conference in Taipei, Taiwan in 2019, Malaysia joined the Network and took up the responsibility to organise 9NICE. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 9NICE Conference will be held from 28 – 30 July 2023 in the enchanting City of Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia.
Purpose of NICE
The purposes of NICE are as follow:
．To enhance interaction and friendship among chemistry educators in Asian countries,
．To put chemistry education research into practice, and
．To exchange and share experiences and ideas on chemistry teaching and learning.
Activities
To accomplish its purposes, NICE may carry out the following activities:
．Symposia/conferences;
．Publishing;
．Providing information through internet; and
．Other activities.
