活動介紹

Prof. Norden E. Huang retired in 2006 as chief scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center and has been since served as the Director of Research Center for Adaptive Data Analysis at National Central University. Prof. Huang started in civil engineering, switched to fluid mechanics and mathematics in graduate school, and again to oceanography for post-doctoral, and now he develops methods for data analysis.

Prof. Huang has received many awards and honors for his work with the Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) Method, including NASA Medal for Exceptional Technology Achievement, NASA’s Government Invention of the Year Award for 2003, the 2003 James Kerley Award. The HHT is a computer-simulated method for analyzing data from nonlinear and nonstationary processes with much greater precision and flexibility than was previously possible. This adaptive method has been used in Non-destructive Evaluation for Structural Health Monitoring, Vibration, Speech, and Acoustic Signal Analyses, Earthquake Engineering, and Bio-medical Applications. His work has been described as "one of the most important discoveries in the field of applied mathematics in NASA history."

Prof. Norden E. Huang, is a truly inspiring character and a role model, from whom all participants could learn something valuable. Your participation in this event is going to be rewarding and memorable.
